Volunteer Opportunities
This short program - held virtually - introduces our new volunteers to the programs and volunteer opportunities available and covers what to expect when you volunteer. We provide an overview of the kinds of tasks you could be doing during your shift, the basic safety procedures, time commitments, and these sessions always include time for you to ask questions.
We ask all our volunteers to attend this orientation session to set you up for success.
When: 2nd & 4th Monday of each month, 6:15 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Cooking Matters
Facilitator Training
Each Cooking Matters workshop is lead by a knowledgeable facilitator and focuses on healthy dietary choices, tips for cooking nutrient-rich meals, and optimizing grocery shopping budgets while making healthy food selections.
Our "train-the-trainer" style program is the first step in becoming one of our Cooking Matters facilitators. We show you what you need to know to successfully lead these interactive nutrition education workshops, including how Cooking Matters sessions generally flow, the kinds of questions participants usually ask, and we introduce you to the Cooking Matters content.
We talk about next steps for preparing to lead these sessions, and answer all your questions about the program. Join our team to help us expand the number of workshops and groups we can serve.
If you are interested in having us offer a workshop to your group or organization, please contact Director of Programming Danyae Thomas at 704-209-5057 x1 or danyae@theparkcdc.org.
When: 3rd Tuesday of each month, 6:15 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
